Takere Aronui: Learning through Taiatea Modules and Programmes
This Takere focuses in on all of the learning opportunities (Courses, Modules) within the Wharekura. This Takere aims to ensure that all students have a solid learning base as well as providing exciting, relevant, purposeful learning opportunities that support the student’s passions and learning goals.
Once students have set their personal Learning Plans, they choose Nga Taiatea programmes/modules to help them achieve their goals. Students can choose learning modules for as short as a term and as long as a year.
Students opt into modules offered by the Nga Taiatea Academies, departments and individual teachers. All modules offered require caring Relationships, Relevance to the students and Robust learning and assessment.
The emphasis is on quality programmes that celebrate and uplift our Tainui/Maori identity and are relevant to the students. The Academies include Reo Maori, Social Sciences, Technology, Sciences, Mathematics, the Arts, Health, English, and Whaia (Inquiry and Investigation).
Below are helpful links to help students and whanau plan out the Rautaki Ako that suits our students.
- 2020 Course/ Subject/ Module Lines
- Module Explanations for Each Course at Each Level (Putake 1 and 2: Taumata 1, 2,3)
- Student Rautaki Ako Templates (Whanau Aria Year 9 – 11),(Whanau Ararau Year 12 – 13): Students need to fill in their Rautaki Ako templates and ensure that this learning plan aligns to their needs, passions and future. Rangatahi need to discuss what they are considering with their whanau and they will present the final plan to their whanau at a parent hui with the Kaiarahi students and whanau during week 4 of term 1.
