Nga Taiatea Wharekura

Kei nga mana, nga reo, nga karangatanga maha, tena ra koutou katoa.

Nga Taiatea is a "Kura a Iwi" in Hamilton and serves whanau from all around the Waikato region and many whanau from around Aoterroa who send their children to Hamilton so that they can come to Nga Taiatea. Waikatotanga, Tainuitanga and service to the Kingitanga are integral to the kaupapa of our kura. Most of the students at Nga Taiatea are from Tainui and we honour the elders, marae, hapu and iwi for your support, guidance and commitment.

Nga Taiatea is also privileged to have many students from tribes all over New Zealand who come to Tainui to go to Nga Taiatea. It is an honour to have students from all over Atoearoa here at Nga Taiatea.  Kei te whanau whanui o Nga Taiatea Wharekura, tena ra koutou katoa.

Nga Taiatea will always honour the families, as well as the Kura Kaupapa Maori and Maori Immersion units in this region who fought for the establishment of this Kura a Iwi secondary school here in Hamilton. It is due to these families, schools, marae and the wider community that Nga Taiatea exists and thrives today.

Nga Taiatea also acknowledges our relationships with the tertiary providers (Wananga, Universities, Polytechnics, etc), community organisations and corporations in the region and beyond for your continued support and encouragement. E kore e mutu nga mihi ki a koutou katoa.

Nga Taiatea honours the wider whanau, including the many other kura from around Aotearoa and beyond for your support, guidance and wisdom. Nei ra te mihi o te ngakau ki a koutou katoa.

We hope that you enjoy our website and gain an insight into our journey as a school.  Through this website you will understand where we have come from, how we serve our students, whanau and community, and where we are going too as a school, whanau and community.

Nei ra te mihi ki a koutou katoa.
